I started Sparkling Engagements for the simple reason that I love Charlevoix — the scenery, the water, the people, and the feeling of being surrounded by Northern Michigan’s beauty. And I’ve always loved picnics. Event planning has been a passion of mine for years, and I’ve discovered a niche for fine-tuning the small details that make every moment sparkle. I love romance, creating beautiful spaces, and celebrating life’s most special occasions.

When we look back on our lives, we don’t usually remember what we had for dinner last month — we remember the moments we spent with the ones we love.

I was raised in Dallas, Texas, but my heart found its way to Michigan long ago — a place that’s felt like home since I was 18. Today, I’m married to the love of my life, Eddie — my rock, my support, and my partner in every adventure. Together, we wrote 1987: An Unfinished Love Story, sharing the true beginnings of our journey and my lifelong connection to Northern Michigan — a love that stretches from the wide open skies of Lubbock, Texas to the shores of Sault Ste. With Sparkling Engagements, my goal is to give others the chance to savor unforgettable moments in this beautiful place. From romantic proposals to birthdays or simply a “just because” evening, every picnic is styled with thoughtful touches — locally sourced food from Charlevoix providers, fresh flowers, cozy décor, ambient lighting, and personalized upgrades like photography or custom signage.
